Blue TONES
Food-Music-Movement-Clothing
Color affects us all in many ways from what we wear to the food we eat. The color blue is calming and associated with trust, security and protection, but can also be associated with depression or “feeling blue”.
Surrounding yourself with blue could promote feelings of peace and relaxation, security and safety, making it perfect for healing through a hard time or finding calm in the storm.
Naturally blue foods are rich in anthocyanins, which are antioxidants that can prevent cancers, improve heart health and improve memory. Here are a bunch of blue options for you to try.

BLUE TONES: CLOTHING
Blue is my favorite color and so I reserved it for one of my favorite pastimes- reading. Here’s more about wearing blue from around the world.
Calm, trust, authority and relaxation, wearing blue will have those around you at ease.
In Western Culture blue is considered a masculine color, as well as one of authority and security, as many police and security uniforms are blue. It is also a color of calm and relaxation, harnessing the feeling of being near water, but “feeling blue” and “the blues” are associated with feeling down and out.
In other cultures, the masculinity represented in the United States, is replaced by femininity in China, blue also symbolizes: healing, immortality and trust. Similarly, in the Middle East, blue represents security, immortality, heaven and religious spirituality.
In other cultures blue is also a symbol of religions from the Virgin Mary’s robes, to symbolizing divinity in Judaism. In Catholicism blue represents optimism and health and in Hinduism blue embodies love and happiness.
Understanding what colors mean in other cultures can help to connect us to our increasingly global world.
BLUE TONES: YOGA
The Throat Chakra is associated with the color blue. If we heal and balance this chakra we can begin to find our voice and express ourselves to ourselves and others.
