I am very honored to share that The Latest has been selected for the 7th annual Stanford Neurodiversity Summit, taking place September 19–21, 2026, at Stanford University and online. This year’s theme is “Building Strengths through Neurodiversity Innovation.”
My art video featuring The Latest will be included in the Summit’s Art Montage, shown each day from: 11:35 a.m.–12:35 p.m. Pacific Time.
The video is a tour through the The Latest photobook, combining its constructed photographs with embedded stop-motion sequences to bring elements of the book to life.
The Latest is a photography and stop-motion series exploring my experience as a late-diagnosed autistic woman and the evolving process of creating order and expression. Through symbolic still lifes, taxonomical inventories, repetition, research and play, the work explores neurodivergent ways of organizing and making sense of the world.
The first half of the book allows the viewer to engage with these images without titles or explanation, placing them into a pre-diagnosis space of searching for connection without context. As viewers look closer, they will find that tiny objects from the calibrations reappear as hidden 'easter eggs' within the larger narrative scenes, inviting them into a playful system of meaning-making. Halfway through, the structure shifts. The book enters a dialogue pairing those same photographs with personal essays rooted in neurodiversity research. This transition brings the same reframing, understanding and acceptance that a late diagnosis brings to an autistic life.
